SUBJECT: The New Mental Health Parity Rules: Action Items for TPAs and Employers

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: This session will cover the final mental health and substance use disorder parity regulations that were just released in November 2013. These new regulations take effect with plan years beginning on or after July 1, 2014, so TPAs and employers should quickly consider them. The webcast will cover: - The basics of the parity rules, including the difference between quantitative and non-quantitative treatment limitations, limitations on financial requirements applied to mental health and substance use disorder benefits, and the six benefit classifications to which the parity rules apply,
- Significant new changes introduced by the final regulations,
- How the Affordable Care Act affects mental health and substance use disorder benefits, and
- Practical compliance strategies for plans that offer mental health and substance use disorder benefits.
