Small businesses and sole proprietors have been calling for help and a change in policy that would allow for lower costs and better plans. With 28 million uninsured Americans, something needed to be done and the ACA was enacted to address it. Unfortunately, its significant impact has resulted in the expansion of Medicaid, and not private health coverage. Association Health Plans are an opportunity to address private health coverage, leading the US Department of Labor to release its AHP regulations on June 21, 2018.
